This piece was made for an American client who wanted a round table for regular family use that could extend to seat 10 for Thanksgiving. The leaves are stored inside the table frame, under the 1350mm diameter top. It is made in ash.
The clustered leg pedestal format is popular as people can sit all round the table without the table legs getting in the way.
Neat brass plated turnbutton fittings lock the leaves together firmly in either small or extended mode. I usually use a clear water based polyurathene finish on Ash as it retains the fresh light colour.
Ash works well on Oak flooring as it offers a contrast in colour.
